First day

First day

About us

It is now my husband and I after many years of taking care of our family. Beginning with a wonderful son until he left home to become a Marine and as recently as taking care of my mother until her passing and all the life and love in between. We've been happily married since 1982 and I can hardly wait to see what the next 26 years brings. It's been a great ride!

Sunny day

Been a couple of weeks now since I posted anything. Guess you knew that already.

I've been busy but not really accomplished anything out of the ordinary. Laundry, housework, moved the tack from the garage to the spare room/plant room. The plants are living outside for now and we need the room in the garage. Would like to be able to put T's car in there. Ha....might happen.
We've got another vacation coming up and I hope that we'll be able to get the roof done. We have a wedding to go to also. A morning wedding. Never been to a wedding at 10 a.m. before. Not sure of the reasoning behind that but whatever the kids want. Their honeymoon will be going on the Hot Rod Power Tour. Nothing like spending your honeymoon with several thousand other people. I bet they have lots of fun.
Mornings are so beautiful. Nice cool breeze and everything still green. Birds singing and horses munching. Believe I better start a few chores and get back to this a little later.
It's much much later and now I have no energy to finish.....later
Oh,,,, it was a diamond day!

Sunny Sunday

It's still dark outside with a full moon, actually was a supermoon. Was closer to earth than normal. Was really nice. There was/is supposed to be a meteor shower peaking the last few hours but it was so bright you couldn't see them.
Here's my amaryllis blooming this year. About 3 weeks ahead of it's normal time. I noticed the tiny little bloom on the stamen?. It's very tiny and pink. Interesting.
There were 3 blooms this year instead of 2! May have another bloom coming on.  Linda had this plant one Christmas (you know the ones they force to bloom for the holidays etc) and afterward she didn't want to mess with it and passed it on to me. I'm sure glad she did. I just let nature take it's course, put it with the other house plants and this is the result - year 2.
This is a photo of Pop's grandparents. Mary Fuller Tanner born about 1820. Here's her husband, Thomas Tanner, born in 1812 and died in 1864.
Quite a stern looking couple. I still haven't figured out why photographers told people not to smile. It's amazing to me that I can find photos like this online that people don't mind sharing. I love it! The internet is so wonderful! Talk about a way-back picture!
We didn't go to bed til midnight last night! How silly was that? Think I'll go back to bed now and try again. Hope T can stay awake at work today.
I plan on it being a diamond day. Wish me luck.

Here we are again. I'm still feeling bad every few days but have good days in between. Sis had her surgery and all is well. Least wise the best that can be had for the shape she's in haha! Just joking, sis, I know you're doing okay and on the mend.
Something to brighten the day. One of seven new babies that just hatched! I think 4 of them are Silkies and 3 of them are Cuckoo Marans. So cute.
Had a couple of other photos to post but as usual the dang thing won't work this a.m....Maybe next time.
Well, been up since 2a.m. so gonna quit and go back to bed now.
Gonna be a diamond day .

Doberman day

It's a Doberman day around here. Just because...Misty is so funny. She was just about to sneeze.
Sheba just wants to have fun!
Hank just likes to stop and smell the flowers along the way. What a sweet soul he is.
Phoenix was a bright light in our lives the short time he was with us. Heart problems took him from us after only 6 years. He sure loved being on the truck with us.
Jake: a combination of every one of the special dogs I've had in my life. I can't be sure but he may have been the most special of all. Time will tell.

How about a way back picture today?
Would you look at the size of that stump? I'm sure that's why the picture was taken. It's a wonder they didn't make us climb up there. Would have been fun!

Well, things are moving rapidly along. Sis is having surgery in less than a week to take care of her blocked artery. What a blessing they found it before a heart attack or stroke!
Well, it's several hours later and I'm about done in for the day.
Some days are diamonds!

Who knew?

It's pretty dang chilly this a.m./p.m.. Hoping it's the last hoorah. Put a few more house plants out yesterday and several more to go. Want to get the garage cleaned out so we can put a car in it again. Been for the bike for a long time. The truck and van are too big to go in there but I think T's new car will fit just fine as soon as we get the tack out and some junk.
This "chrome" browser is going to work out just fine I think. I suggested to T last night to try it for his browsing style and it worked much better than IE9. I haven't figured out how to add my yahoo bar and not sure I'll be able to but that's okay - I can still use the IE.
Wanted to share this picture of Hank rocking himself to sleep.Still having trouble uploading pictures! Dang that makes me mad. I'd rather share pictures than talk. Not in the cards today. Some days are diamonds ....some are stone. Not sure which this one is.

Good morning!

Well, I've downloaded the chrome browser and trying that. Blogger no longer was supported by IE9, blah blah blah. Wondering why everything has to change every 5 minutes. haha

Been fighting this crap and feeling like crap. Some times feels like I'm having a heart attack and won't make it. Good grief. I'm praying it's really just severe heartburn. May have it whooped now. I've got to feel better.
My sweet pea about a week old.
My sweet pea almost 3 yrs old.
Here's my girl Elvira about 5 days  old.

Here's mother and daughter in 2011. A few months later momma crossed the rainbow bridge.
I could go on and on about my big hairy kids. And the little hairy kids and the feathered kids. lol
I always have things to say on here when I don't have time to put fingers on the keyboard. Now that I have time I can't think of them.

We had a week off (Tim had a week off)The first day we went to Marshfield with Lee's help we picked up a horse trailer full of stuff to store for mom. Made it back late afternoon. The yard had been mowed. We're thinking the city done it as Char hadn't contacted the mowing service yet. The water hadn't been turned on either. Guess Devon will do that while he's here getting his teeth fixed.
Tim fixed the gutter on the carport, brush hogged and fixed a few other things around the place. Took care of me when I felt like crap. We had 1.85" of rain during the week too. And another 1.1" on Sunday. Grass is loving it. So are the horses. There's a bale of hay in the ring and it's been there for a couple of weeks now. They have no interest in it at all. Of course that saves us money but I'd like to see the grass grow a little bit before they eat it down. lol

It's absolutely beautiful outside. The temp is around 55*, a slight breeze (when isn't there a breeze here?) and the sun is shining. Doesn't get much better than that. I managed a 25 minute walk on the treadmill this a.m.. only had slight pain after. Yay! I ate a few tums and it mostly went away. I think it's almost nap time.

The day started out so nice. I felt good for a change. By noon I was used up and feeling sick. The kids came by and woke me at 3:30. Did  a fast walk around with Jeanne with some bling in her hair while Aiden rode her. I was barely able to keep up appearances while they were here. Hard to pretend to feel good when you want to drop to your knees. Some days are diamonds and stones.

Happy Easter !

We don't get to go to Spfd for our traditional Easter breakfast with family but we'll have a different family to spend time with. Sandi and I will be taking MomPat to mass this a.m. and if that goes well I plan on taking her to lunch. If S agrees that is. haha Tim is working, haven't heard from the kids for a few days. Lee was suppose to call Friday, left them a message yesterday and still no word. He ask me to call and remind Sunday about the move on Monday. Maybe they will answer the phone this time.
I did get the dogs done on Wed. and uploaded the one picture I did take.
He's a sweetie. See how big Sam's collar looks now? They were long past due for a haircut. Didn't take one of Bud/Butter since he had to be completely shaved. Poor fella was awful dirty. I'll print this one out and give it to mom to keep with her. She won't like the short eyebrows but it's best for Sam.
About two weeks ago, maybe less we had some hotdogs off the gas grill. Sure were good. Yesterday as I looked out the kitchen window I saw a bird go up under the lid of the same grill. I went out to check and this is what I found!
Sure didn't take them long to fill that sucker up!
Just realized I didn't check the rain gauge after the storms went through. I'll do that before we leave. When I don't have to use a flash light to do it. I bought 2 mater plants at the feed store a couple of days ago. Cherokee Purple of course. I will keep them on the porch until I think the last of the frost has gone. I think it is now but don't want to have to go out and cover them etc. ..oh, I checked the orchard yesterday too. If there's no frost, looks like a bumper crop of plums and cherries. Quite a few peaches too but since we didn't get those sprayed BEFORE they were in full bloom they all have leaf curl ! AGAIN! Apples had some blooms too. No curl so far. Sometimes ...........
Guess I'd better get around. Got pictures to print (after replacing ink cartridge), clothes to pick out etc. See ya ...gonna be a diamond.
