First day

First day

About us

It is now my husband and I after many years of taking care of our family. Beginning with a wonderful son until he left home to become a Marine and as recently as taking care of my mother until her passing and all the life and love in between. We've been happily married since 1982 and I can hardly wait to see what the next 26 years brings. It's been a great ride!

Throwaway Thursday

What will it be today? I'll find something I'm sure!

My poor drugged baby. Just waking up from his surgery a few weeks ago. Handsome little fella isn't he?
Busy day. Maybe another time....

Another great day ahead!

Had several invites for the fourth but one to Lee and Brenda's won the day. The food was great. Some good visiting and watching the little ones play in the pool.
Wonderful day.  The weather is hot and humid. It is, after all, summer time in the Ozarks. Count my blessings and thank heaven for central air.

Throwaway Thursday

Here it is Thursday already. Not sure where the time goes. Sleeping I think. I've got a gift to put in the mail and need to do that soon. Just realizing that I do not have an address! Guess it will be late after all.
I wonder if my sister has finished the tag for said gift? I know she's been busy. lol
This is from last year's poker run to raise money for a local LEO that was injured on the job. In the end we all opted not to draw cards and donated the money for the couple. We had a really nice ride. In case you can't find me, I'm on the left.

Here's Aiden in his first Packer shirt he got for Christmas.
It's 8:35 and already 79*. Gonna be a scorcher today. Under a heat wave advisory. The heat index will be over 100*, something like 105* for this afternoon. Got my watering done and feeding done that I can do. Tim has to go to the feed store afterwhile. There's always something isn't there?
Guess I'd better go find something to throw away.

Sister's birthday, this and that

Today is Sandi's birthday. Won't say how old she is but I sure wish for her a wonderful day.

This is from 2 yrs ago I believe. Jay is on the left, Steve in the middle and Michael on the right.

Getting ready for one of her cookouts.

It's party time! She always puts on a good feed!

Almost got the bus running again this weekend. The kill switch was stuck but now we need to "prime" the fuel.
Was able to turn out Spike yesterday. He was getting around much better. Must've been a stone bruise. No swelling etc. Jeannie's was too. She was immediately better. Dick's swelling is going down from his surgery and the other spot is healing nicely. Yay!
Tim cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for us yesterday evening. Really good. You can hardly go wrong with hot dogs though. lol I'm anxious to get the other grill that Sandi and company have put together for us. One down and one to go. Thanks Sis! I even bought a big bag of charcoal last week for 2.99 in anticipation.
Talked to cousin Kate a few days back. She's hangin' in there. Carrying a pretty big load taking care of her folks. Wish I could make it better for her. I think we need to go visit soon. Seems big D is taking a meal to Foofie every day and checking on her. I think it's just now hitting him that his mom is needing care RIGHT now. Not some point down the road. It's a hard road as we all know. All three of us have already dealt with it, unfortunately.
"Ran into" cousin Jenny O online the other day at ancestry. I have her new email in case anyone would like it. I'll drop her a line later today.

Want to share this picture I nabbed(SP?)from FB last year of the next generation of Atteberry "boys" and their families. I believe it was at their reunion at the coast last year. Someone please tell me Jeff's daughters name. Don't make me go look it up!

Found this in the way back machine! What a wonderful group of women!

I love this picture! Looks like Cayden Joe doesn't it? Hey, big brother, what a cutey you were.

Now here we have another great group of women! I look awful but that's okay. Some days are diamonds and some days are stones.

Dang it's humid out there! Got my chores done and back in the house. That's pretty obvious isn't it?

Windy Wednesday

Another windy day here on the plains. No surprise there. Temp at a wonderful 69*. Was 62* when Tim and Dez left this morning. A great beginning to the day!

Waiting on Buck to finish breakfast and have done the outside "chores". I actually have 2 tomatoes! Poor little plants. They're hanging in there quite nicely.
For some reason I'm not able to upload my pictures today. A blogger problem no doubt. Maybe later. I was planning on uploading a couple of Dick and his stitches. We had him cut yesterday and a cyst removed from his side. He's doing just fine. A little sore of course.

Too much time?

Do you suppose I have too much time on my hands or is it - idle hands etc? lol Working in the yard after chores yesterday morning and found myself thinning the lillies(sp?) and the next thing I knew:
I was standing at the bbq weaving a basket. When the sun got too high I moved into the house.

It's a funny little basket but I enjoyed it.

We'll see how it looks when it's dry.

This is the lid to Marge's basket that I made for her. Of course I haven't given it to her yet. She's still using an album cover for a lid haha.

Here's a few of the smaller baskets that I have made in the past.
One more:

A favorite of mine that I made a long time ago.

Enough baskets for the day. Ann and Mitch dropped by for a short visit. Stayed about an hour. Just left a little bit ago. Started dinner. I'm done..

Last day of vacation

I hope Tim can sleep in today. He's been getting up fairly early (for him) for most of the vacation. The first day he slept in til about 8 and then slept another 8hrs during the day. He was plumb used up.

Yesterday he took two trees out of the yard that needed to be gone. One was rotten and of no use and the other was just too close to the foundation and waterline. I'll miss that one as it was helping shade my back porch. Oh, well, I'll figure something out to take care of that. I have a canvas drop cloth I can use as a curtain. Maybe I'll hang it today.
Tim tried getting the old girl going this week and she just didn't want to start. Makes no sense. One day she'll run just great and the next she won't hit a lick. Dangit!
She's sitting out front now and patiently waiting for something to happen to her. lol

I finally dug up my hops plant and now I need to figure out where it might like to live now.. the orchard was not a good place for it.
Got the feeding and watering done. Gotta go for now.
