First day

First day

About us

It is now my husband and I after many years of taking care of our family. Beginning with a wonderful son until he left home to become a Marine and as recently as taking care of my mother until her passing and all the life and love in between. We've been happily married since 1982 and I can hardly wait to see what the next 26 years brings. It's been a great ride!

Beautiful morning!

Had the window and curtain open in the bedroom last night 'cause it was so hot. Woke up during the night and thought it must be almost daylight. Opened my eyes to see the beautiful full moon watching over us right through the window! Was great. Went back to sleep to wake up at daylight (5:40 something). Made coffee and went outside to enjoy the cool air. Less humid too. Let the chickens out and fed big Buck. Watered flowers etc. Tim is still sleeping. I know he wants me to wake him when I get up but he worked OT yesterday and I know he's tired.
I figured out how to save the new pictures on fb this morning so I hope Steve doesn't mind I snagged this picture of his boys from Nov 2010. I can't believe they are growing up so fast. Trevor just turned 14, I believe it was! Hope that's right. Look how big Jarod is already! Looks like an Atteberry for sure.
When it gets too hot ..
just remember this dang ice storm we had and enjoy the heat!
My class of '72 is having their 40th reunion this month so thought I would share this picture of our Pepperdine reunion of a few years ago. Was a fun day! We also had Mitch with us that day so it was two generations. Momma went to that school too! Now it's an alternative school, kinda sad. Oh, we rode the bike to town that day so I started out with 3 layers of clothes. Here I'm down to two. lol
The first night of the reunion will be held at our favorite bike shop. How weird is that? In the parking lot!

Some days are diamonds!

Sunny Sunday

It's still dark outside with a full moon, actually was a supermoon. Was closer to earth than normal. Was really nice. There was/is supposed to be a meteor shower peaking the last few hours but it was so bright you couldn't see them.
Here's my amaryllis blooming this year. About 3 weeks ahead of it's normal time. I noticed the tiny little bloom on the stamen?. It's very tiny and pink. Interesting.
There were 3 blooms this year instead of 2! May have another bloom coming on.  Linda had this plant one Christmas (you know the ones they force to bloom for the holidays etc) and afterward she didn't want to mess with it and passed it on to me. I'm sure glad she did. I just let nature take it's course, put it with the other house plants and this is the result - year 2.
This is a photo of Pop's grandparents. Mary Fuller Tanner born about 1820. Here's her husband, Thomas Tanner, born in 1812 and died in 1864.
Quite a stern looking couple. I still haven't figured out why photographers told people not to smile. It's amazing to me that I can find photos like this online that people don't mind sharing. I love it! The internet is so wonderful! Talk about a way-back picture!
We didn't go to bed til midnight last night! How silly was that? Think I'll go back to bed now and try again. Hope T can stay awake at work today.
I plan on it being a diamond day. Wish me luck.

Something different

I decided to throw in some old posts that I had posted in the past and deleted. Checking back I started this in May '09 - deleted all of it late '10. With that said:

Our first home. We hauled it from Forsyth on the lake to twenty acres on Gramma's farm in Willard. We lived in it 2.5 years. Tired of close quarters and hauling water for us, pets and horses we bought our house in Willard.

This is our place now. Minus the green Dodge and the green VW bus. Add a couple more horses lol. Needless to say we are horse poor. We do love it here though. Close to the hwy for Tim's commute yet still fairly private. Do have more traffic than I expected but I can live with that even though we're right on the road.

The first pony ride that I remember. I'm hanging on to Allen's hair with Cousin Billy at the reins. Boy ,wasn't I something?! I love this picture. I sure did envy them. I mean, gosh they had a pony!

Here's our first and only pony we had as kids. Patty. Mom told me she was an old circus pony or some story like that. Only tricks I remember were dragging you off with a tree limb or sitting down with you. lol I loved her anyway.

Either the sun was in my eyes or it was my InjunJo impression. That was one of my nicknames as a little kid. The other one being "Needles". Not sure where that one came from but Aunt Mary never let me live it down.
The first picture was taken at Uncle Paul's house in Oregon and the second taken at Mom and Pop's place "in the country". Mom and Pop being our Sprinkle grandparents. (Some people that may be reading may not know that.)While growing up I tried to talk Mom and Pop into letting me get another horse but Mom said one would run the beef off the cows. Seemed to me on 80 acres there would be enough room for both.

Took me an hour to piddle in the yard with feeding everyone, brushing and spraying a few of the horses for flies, watering plants blah blah blah so I'd better post this and get to my house work.
